Wedding and Reception Pianist

Fergus Black is often engaged as a classical pianist for weddings and receptions
  • Music for Religious and Civil Wedding Ceremonies
  • Music for Wedding Breakfasts
He can play for the wedding ceremony itself, but is more usually called upon to provide classical piano music for the reception, as guests arrive prior to the wedding breakfast. These session usually last from one to two hours.

Fergus Black offers a range of light classical music - so that your guests are entertained, not distracted, by the music. Extracts from opera and ballet, arranged for the piano, are interspersed with original piano pieces suitable to the occasion. He describes the music he plays as "more Classic FM than Radio 3; music with tunes, that guests will recognise". His repertoire can be varied to include a few surprises! It is possible to reflect a theme or interest in the music chosen:-
  • a more jazzy selection: Gershwin, Joplin,
  • something Scottish (or any other nationality!)
  • birthday variations - Happy Birthday To You, in the style of classical composers
  • animal theme
  • birds theme
Please see this page, for a suggested repertoire list.

His standard fee for a two hour session for weddings is £275 (2010 prices)
